In October 2009, Alteris Renewables installed a 4.8kW photovoltaic rooftop system that produces 5,540 kWh annually and offsets 52% of their electrical needs. Other "green features" include a salt water swimming pool, use of greenhouse heat to heat the house and use of normal geothermal energy to keep the greenhouse heated with minimal energy usage, rain catchers, and permaculture landscaping principles. Come meet team members of Alteris Renewables to learn about renewable energy and to view a solar electric system in close proximity.
