Seedling starts
Seedlings before they get to the greenhouse in early spring.
-
Shrooms
King Stropharia or Wine Cap mushroom beds started. Wood chips innoculated with spawn from Fungi Perfecti. Hope to harvest in the fall.

Bio-intensive Bed 4/3/10
Watch this bed transform. First planted in early April but seeds started in early March, this bed is planted with broccoli and lettuces are interplanted to make use of every space.

Bleeding Hearts
A sign that we are deep into spring.
-
Early Start.
High tunnels enabled us to get tomatoes started as early as the first week of April.
-
Celeriac
These bad boys were the first seeds we planted in mid February because of long germination times. They hung out in soil blocks for quite awhile before being planted strategically in the ground. We like symmetry and clean lines here. OCD? Yes.

Basil
Craving its partner in crime, tomatoes.
-
Bio-intensive Bed 4/17/10
Two weeks later this bed is filling in quite nicely and enough to start clipping baby lettuces.

Palisades Farners Market
Thanks to everyone who bought our plants this year. We sold out of almost everything in 4 sales and pre-orders. We hope you have a great bounty this season.

Edible
Why grow something that you can't eat? We love these multi-purpose flowers.

Archie's Head Shot
HMG's 2nd mascot found his 15 minutes of fame when he was published in the June Issue of Rockland Magazine guarding compost trail.
-
Fava Beans
One of the first things planted in mid March and done by mid Summer. Does well with cabbage which is planted alongside. Harvest fava beans when they are about 6" long. Can be kept in the fridge for 10 days or shelled and frozen for future use.

Bio-intensive Bed 5/23/10
6 weeks after planting this bed has provided 14 lbs of gorgeous lettuces and are now under the canopy of the broccoli just in time for Memorial Day heat.

Overview
A shot from the end of May and looking forward to lush growth, abundant nutrient dense food, and gratefulness for all the new friends and people we've met because of the farm we keep.
